TRANSMISSION 000 — KAM

Hi, this is Kam.

For about a decade I've been building experiences and products — at Walt Disney Imagineering, at SYNG, and through collaborations with people whose work I love, like Jerry Lorenzo (Fear of God), Kilter Films (Fallout, Westworld), Nipsey Hussle, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and other friends.

I have a patent from the Disney years — a system for interactive spaces. My parents are proud of me for it. The through-line, then and now: spaces and things that thoughtfully respond to presence.

These days I'm running Pangaea — a small entity asking how people connect with natural phenomena and time, and how technology might bring us closer to the land and ourselves rather than drifting away. My most recent installation, Lunarium, was a low-light chamber for sitting with the moon — its phases, its data, its weight — in a way that felt physical instead of pixelated.

I'm a big kid. I want to make things that are tender and a little strange and good at their job. I look up to fictional figures like the robot from The Iron Giant or the mossy soldier from Laputa, the one that protects the animals. Quiet, capable, kind is the aim — and lots of fun.

Kameron Burk (or Kam) is an American designer and technologist. He is the founder of Pangaea, a studio exploring how people connect with natural phenomena and time through technology. Previously, Kameron worked at Walt Disney Imagineering and SYNG. He holds a patent for an interactive spaces system. His recent installation Lunarium is a low-light chamber for experiencing the moon's phases. He has collaborated with Jerry Lorenzo (Fear of God), Kilter Films (Fallout, Westworld), Nipsey Hussle, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. For inquiries, contact through Pangaea at png.earth.
